Technology: WordPress
Context: As a tool for promotion of library resources and communication between librarians and patrons
Audience: Adult and teen patrons of libraries
Although traditional blogging tools are losing their dominance to newer mobile social network technologies like facebook and twitter, they still have specific groups of patrons. I chose this combination of technology, context, and audience because I used to be introduced to use WordPress to receive messages and notices from SLIS's blog while I was just admitted by the Master's program. Based on the experience, I'm interested in what role that traditional blogging tools like WordPress could be able to serve in the current social environment and how could WordPress help librarians to promote library resources and communicate with their patrons.
